Ah, you lucky man! Great groups! I heard The Guess Who in college live on the basketball court.. (1970). Sat about four feet from them, they were not even on a stage, just the floor.....never forgot them, they sounded just like their records! Real nice guys.

Have a good time......great to know Three Dog Night is back together again....what a great group they are!

Have a good time there, report back on how you liked the concert and how they sounded....would love to hear about it!

Ps: Want to hear "OLD SCHOOL?" I auditioned for Paul Reviere and the Raiders as lead guitar..(1968). Got a real nice hand written rejection letter from Paul Reviere himself...Freddy Weller got the job.........also auditioned for Tommy James and the Shondells back in '69-'70 just before "Crimson and Clover" came out....got a real nice hand written rejection letter from Tommy James himself....nice guy.....now I'm just OLD. Now THAT'S old school! And I'm still famous for NOT being famous!!!:p

Okay, I give.... Who?

And, Three dog night??? Is that anything like a two martini lunch?

Don't forget to ask your mother, she may tell you not to come. I hope your friend is an American woman and if she gives you those eyes and there is some mighty fine wine, there may be joy in the world. But if things don't go good, there will be no sugar that night and you will find out if one is the loneliest number.

Okay, I will stop now because I have no time to keep this up. This dude Eli is coming over and we are going to celebrate his return from his European vacation. He is bringing black and white photos from his trip. I look forward to seeing them even though I've never been to Spain.

Remember, there is no school, like old school.

Enjoy your concert.

Don't stop...you guys are killing it! :D

I have seen so many concerts that when I find the bag of stubs and go through them I forgot that I saw them LOL. Back in the early '90s when Rockefellers was still a concert venue I saw Badfinger and then The Guess Who and got to meet both bands, I was on a "old school trip". My birthday is the 4th of July and a few friends and I went to the Foghat concert and one friend had a hotel room downtown. Naturally we were at the bar in the hotel and ended up getting shit faced drunk with the band.

In '71 my mom bought me the Golden Bisquits album and I would put my headphones on and fall asleep listening to it on the weekends, God I love that album! I just happened to be listening to our local classic rock station when I heard about this concert and the friend I am taking I have known since '74 and she is not only a great friend but like a sister. The concert is being held at The Arena Theater here in Houston that I have not been to since '95 when I saw Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band that included....
  • Mark Rivera – saxophone, percussion, guitar, vocals

Needless to say I am pumped!!

I decided to go all out and try to repay the kindness my friend Sheri gave me through the last 40+yrs so I purchased the closest and most "front and center" of stage seats available....$200 for two tickets!

I remember back in the '80s when I purchased 9 front row center seats for Cheap Trick for $25 each (awesome concert)! I then think about Bob Dylan and his song "These Times They are Changing".

So nice of you to do that...you're a good guy. Hope you have great time...wish I was there, too. Awesome seats! Really cool! Perfect place to sit! Just awesome!

And you sure are right "These Times They are A'Changing" Wish, though, only for the better.

Bruce, you are famous on this here website, thats all you get at this point.

ME? Famous HERE? You've got to be kidding! I haven't done anything at all to be famous here! Or anywhere else! I'm the most "unfamous" man on earth! Lots of guys here are way famous on this site! Not me!! Still, your words has a nice ring to it.....sigh, if only true. I really think I'm famous for "dropping, breaking" stuff, like expensive tail lights, expensive toilets, dropping harmonic balancers through sinks, etc. Seems that's all I'm good at. Also an EXPERT at falling down!!!! Even at this point I'm recovering from a real bad fall.....jeez, hurts like hell! Also, just had a heat exhaustion attack on Friday. Guess that's being famous for not thinking ahead, working in high humid, hot conditions! Yep, famous for being absolutely STUPID! Seriously! Scared the hell out of my poor wife.

(But still, I love life and all of you guys here)

So what do I get BEYOND this point?:D:rolleyes:

You will be there. ;)

The Guess Who killed it last night, awesome show! Unfortunately I cannot say the same for Three Dog Night and we exited stage left before their performance ended. My friend Sheri was disappointed as well and we agreed that the lack of quality with their show was with the sound engineer. I am glad I had the opportunity to see them though.

The Guess Who and our other friend....LOL! My friend Amanda feeling a tad frisky :nailbiting:!

Awesome! Thanks for the update......sucks that Three Dog Night sounded bad....surprising. Were they all the original members, including the three front singers? Just curious.

Good morning Bruce. We were completely surprised by the difference in the sound quality but it is what it is and it was a privilege in every aspect. Made new friends, spent quality time with my best friend, I win in the end. ;)

Regarding OE members now they only include Danny Hutton on vocals and Michael Allsup on guitar (he killed that Strat!) The "road" is long and winding and tough so I am not disappointed, it was "A night to Remember" while I can still spell remember!!! :D

Really glad you had a great time! I appreciate the update...I know sound systems screw up at times, and the soundman is not always straight on.....par for the course, part of a music venue.

Thanks.

I was just reading on The Guess Who FB page that another person had the same concern but then I realized that Three Dog Night could have developed a problem somewhere in the system. No biggy though and will gladly go see them if they ever return. I'm trying to get Bad Finger to return to Houston.
