I recently came across this old hotrod gem I got awhile back. While reading thru it I thought it only proper to share with my TBC friends......it made for some interesting reading, overhead cam hemi heads for Buick.....Mickey Thompson /Dan Guerny Buick Indy car [1962], and 1964 425 nail-head Turbo engine that made 708 ft lbs torque at 2800....And a few other interesting combos

I have some magazine stuff from the 70's that highlight the Buick Turbo stuff and I had no idea they were playing with this stuff back in the early 60's. Enjoy. IMG_1480.JPG IMG_1483.JPGIMG_1486 (1).JPG IMG_1474.JPG IMG_1471 (1).JPGIMG_1470.JPG

Wow..cool deal on the turbo Nailhead. I'd like to know more about that! I'm in the process of building the 364 in my '59 LeSabre and Nailheads have totally captured my attention. Troy Trepanier's shop built a '56 Buick that has a built 401 Nailhead that has twin turbos and pumps out over 700hp. These motors actually do have potential even with the funky heads, which have 126cc combustion chambers that were a 2 valve takeoff of a 4 valve design. Apparently the combustion chambers are good, but the exhaust port that has to loop around is a shortcoming. I'm more of a fan of the 3rd gen Buick v8's, but my Nailhead journey has been fun.
