The gist of it:
Guy records a Challenger flying past him on his dash-cam. Other forum users point out the car that the police pulled over is different.

OP calls arresting police officer and tells him he has video evidence that he got the wrong driver / car. Cop doesn't want to see it.

It may be time to get a dashcam. If this guy didn't catch this on his dash cam the wrongfully pulled over fellas life could have been pretty messed up, assuming they will eventually actually watch the footage.

Serving and protecting at its finest.

So yesterday I'm arriving home to see 2 wrecked police cruisers a block from my house.

Apparently they were on a call or a chase approaching a crossing intersection and one cruiser Tboned the other.

What a mess. Ambulances, stretchers, fire department, state police.

Amazingly it hasn't made the local news. Imagine that.

D

Interesting stuff. Are we really to the point that we all need dash cams? (seems like everyone in Russia has them.)

Wow I've been wanting to get a dash cam. Mainly for damage caused by hit and run in parking lots etc but I'll add this to the list of reasons

I commend the guy who took the video and helped right this. The cop believed he had the right guy but he shouldn't have been so hard headed and looked at the video and pic. He should have taken the possibility of having locked up the wrong guy more seriously.

Stretchers you say? I hope those cops are OK.

But more importantly, I hope their accident didn't inconvenience you too much....

Scary shit right there AND i was thinking about something like this a few weeks ago.

I was on the belt pkwy around 1:00 am and there was a huge traffic jam. The reason for the traffic jam was a bunch of assholes blocking the hwy to race. When the cops finally show up, all i could think about "lucky i am not on the bike or the chevelle" because you and i know what would have happened to me if i was in either one.
BTW yes i am getting two cams on each vehicle front and rear. I have that kind of luck.

Was looking at these the other day on Amazon. Looks like you can get a decent one for around $80

I have been thinking of getting a dash cam for a while, does anyone know what a good unit would be and aproximate prices? way to much bullshit going on in our country these days, and not just the police but plenty of other undesireables out there. who would of thought you would need a .45 on your side and a video cam just to travel back and forth these days.

Only civilians have this stuff to deal with.
"But repeated attempts to get police to view the video were met with failure. Mr. Sarge said the arresting officer told him he was sure he arrested the right suspect and didn’t need the video. When he pressed further, he said he could file a citizens’ complaint that would be reviewed by the chief."
A cop would have pulled over showed his badge and would have been good.
That is the only thing i like about traffic cameras. Everybody gets fucked equally.

The guy who got wrongfully arrested must have been sh!tting bricks. He surely had a gun pointed at him and was probably yanked out of the car.

I can't believe the officer lost sight of the car, and then didn't even want to see a video that proved he threw the wrong guy in jail.
