I was thinking about maybe joining your club but I live up near the Nebraska border and would only be able to come down once or twice a year. Was wondering how many get togethers you have during the summer and how many members you have. I think you're the closest group to me and I'd be thrilled to be able to BS with some veterans (I feel kinda lonely up here, not another TR for probably 60 miles any direction). Who do I talk to and what do I have to do?

Not to eat up bandwidth but to "join" doesnt take any more than desire actually. I suggest three things:

2. Attend the Lake Afton show with us this weekend and then go out to eat with us afterward.

We have no dues or real membership, so if you say your in, thats basically all it takes We'd be glad to see you make the trip down here sometime and some of us may be headed your way yet this year. I'm going to try to make it to the race in Kearney, Nebraska in July if I get the car back together and later in the fall several of us will probably head up to Topeka for a day or so. Check out our message board for up to date events.

thanks guys. I live in the town of Baileyville (population 150) and need some buick friends. I can't make it this weekend it's too soon to plan for it but maybe the next one?? I'd rather attend tech and BS sessions. I like drag racing but it's gonna be a couple years before this car is all sorted out so it's not getting raced. How many people usually show up to an event? I'm gonna get on the GWTRA page soon but the computer at home is kinda screwed up. Hope to meet some of you guys and I plan on driving the GN down there too (If I were to stay the night in a hotel where do I put the car???).

Arrangements for housing can USUALLY be arranged... I happen to live in the worst of "hoods" in our group and never had any trouble so we can always help you out there. THAT said, if it didnt work out, there are a few Motels to stay in that wouldnt be too bad if you had to park it there. Otherwise I dont pretend to know if it can be stored for you, I only know I could not right now.

Tech and BS? We have half of that covered at any given time, both might be pushing it. heh.

Our usual suspect count is kinda low as we are poor planners. heh. Bigger turnouts are over 20 with about 10 cars. Our "core" of locals get us about 2-6 cars for small stuff. "Club" participation is cyclic in most places for most groups so I think we are due for an upswing.

Anywhere from 2 to 20 people usually show up. The meetings/gatherings are very informal and most all are considered BS sessions There's usually room in my garage for another car or 2. I'll have to see if I can set something up in July or August.

Oh, a member benefit I might note is that I keep a private list of "members" that only other members are able to view... its so we can better contact each other for whatever reason without having to have our private info "on the web". Things like mailing address, cell phone, directions to homes etc.

Hope you can come hang out with us. I REALLY encourage you to at least go down to the Ford vs Buick race (you could ride with someone from here) and see all sorts of Buicks (racing!) without having to take a week off work.Event
