What will cause a TTA to have a hard starting issue only when cold or sitting for more than two days?? It takes several attempts to get it started. Runs fine when started and warmed up and will start normal when hot.

How long for the condition to clear? If once it starts it stays running ok.. then your issue is fuel bleed down.. rail goes to zero PSI..you turn key on..not enough pressure.. car dies.. do this a couple times.. bam.. everything works.

Now if it runs bad after its started until its warm.. whole other issue.

So turn key on... turn key off.. turn key on.. wait 2 seconds.. crank engine.. see if that helps.

Razor,

Condition only when first started after sitting. After it starts it is normal. What is the pressure at first start or ignition on?? 34psi ok at idle?? Completely stock car 83K.

check your fuel pressure regulator is Bosch 237....It should be 45 PSI. :)

45 psi line off the regulator.

Line on.. high 30's after its running.

So.. get a fuel pressure guage... and start diagnostics.

I bet the injectors are toast cuasing it to bleed down. A scantool will confirm your BLM readings being off. More than likely.

Once you shut the engine off.. it should hold pressure fora long time. If the needle drops fast.. theyre leaking.

i have a similar problem my car won't start until the oil pressure hits about 25# then the car will start or if the car is warm it will start right up not sure if this is the same problem that you have or not?my car is heavily modified i bought it that way and have been chasing problems for 2 weeks now.not sure if this car is suppose to act this way or not since i recently got it.any help appreciated

hard start

Looks like your fuel pump relay is open. I don't know why on cold start you have to build up that much oil pressure before start, as the stock oil pressure switch is calibrated at a few psi to close.Coincidence?
Of course, with all those mods, who knows? Get a fuel pressure gauge, if not already installed, and start with the pressure diagnostics, go on from there. A little verification may save you from a lot of second guessing. Keep us informed.

locations

The fuel pump relay is next to the brake booster, the most prominent one. towards the fenderwell is the ac clutch relay, and behind it is the esc module. I could fax you a location picture with a circuit description and a wiring diagram, if you would like. Would do it by computer, but not sure I am that savvy on these things, sorry.

Mr. Tip Top

Try a new Water Temperature Sending Unit Switch !
The Engine dosn't know when it is Cold !
