I was wondering is it wise to have two chips when wanting to cruise use 93 oct. but when turning up boost have a programed 108 oct. chip ,or just invest in a translator and chip.

Depends on what you want.
Keeping in mind that the two chips are just fine (if we were still in the 80's) as long as they are perfectyl optimized for your car/goals. And remembering that there's no adjustability there.

The other route. More money of course, but running a Translator (gen II or pro) you have all the adjustability at your fingertips and one chip all that's required. Street, one set of parameters. Race, another set.
