A couple of months ago the last time I took out my 87 GN I encountered fogged windows and a very grimy film inside the car and of course the smell of antifreeze.I took the car out anyway and when i got on it around 50mph and 17lbs boost I heard a terrible sound like a loud sputter(thats when i think the major overflow of antifreeze in my car occured).I was thinking it was a head gasket because it sounded like a thump and a sputter.I was almost home and when i got home i noticed all the antifreeze on the passenger side floor from the Heater core.I have heard in some instances even though the Heater core was bad I still could have a Head Gasket problem that created the Heater core problem. No antifreeze in the crankcase at all and no leaking anywhere else.I didn't replace the Heater core I just ran the 2 lines together bypassing it.I was also expierencing a major exhaust leak and i thought that thats 1 of the reasons my car sputters at 50mph at wide open throttle.I finally got my car back together.I used the Ultra Copper for the turbo to Header to make it seal like it should.IM pretty sure using a cheap copper gasket with the turbo was where the big exhaust leak was.I am going to take the car out pretty soon just have a little more work to do on it.I was wondering if anyone has heard of a Blown Head gasket causing the Heater Core to blow or had it happen to them
