Can anyone tell me where I can get a header panel for my 87 GN?
GM told me it is discontinued. I try to stay away from aftermarket as much as possible but if it is the only thing available I will use it. Also can anyone tell me which downpipe they recommend between the Poston 3" , the Kirban 3" or the ATR 3" with a stock turbo. Any help is appreciated.

If given the choice between those 3 down pipes I would chose "none of the above".

Though a downpipe will even help stock turbo'd cars, a stock or stock replacement 2.5" downpipe with a ported elbow will be within .1 seconds of a Terry Houston downpipe into the high 11's at which point I would recommend purchasing a Terry Houston Downpipe.

More important than a downpipe is to ensure your ehaust system has the lowest amount of backpressure possible. 2.5" duals with straight through mufflers, minimum.

I purchased a header panel from Poston's. I did have to massage it a little for the bolt ons like the healight buckets and trim. It did however bolt right on and line up. A good body person will need to final finish it for you but I found mine to be quite execclent fit. Hope this helps. It was about 350 bucks if I remmember correctly.

Try the junkyard for the header panel any 84 to 87 regal will bolt right on. All u do is fill the the hole in the center with fiberglass. I had fit problems with Postons too but got it to fit nice with some work.Cheaper at the junkyard too.

nicky6, you are right the 84 to 87 regal 2 door will fit. 4 door and station wagons are different. I had a guy try to sell me an 84 GN and tell me it was never wrecked. I asked him why the station wagon front end? Told me they were all the same. I of course went my way as quickly as possible. He wanted 5k for that piece of crap car too. Any way, I had a hard time finding anything in the junk yard like this. You also might want to contact Mike McCoy. He usually has a number of regal parts available too. I have had great dealings with him.

Mike Mcoy is in carolina and on this board he parts turbo buicks so he probly has one or can get you one.

Thanks guys. After talking to some people and reading my responses, I think I may try the Poston header. I'm still undecided on the downpipe.

If you are going to get a downpipe, go Teryy Houston. It is the only way to fly. Looks good fits great and he is a very nice person to talk to if you ever meet him.

If you use a header that is factory drilled for an emblem, filling it isn't that simple. A fiberglass repair has a tendency to move around as it cures. I replaced mine, filled it, painted and installed. It looked great......until it sat in the sun for two days. A ring appeared where I did the repair. Moral of the story is do the repair, but let it sit in the sun for a few days to heat cycle while curing. Then block it flat and paint. Should be fine after that.
