I've searched this but didnt find anything similar to my problem.

My headlight chime comes on with the headlights. This happens with key on, key off, or engine running. Basically when the lights are on, the chime is on.

Also, the chime shuts off when the dimmer is turned all the way down. Turn it up, chime comes back on.

Any help?

I know I could just disconnect it. I would like to fix the problem not just hide it.

Some background. I just installed a FAST Classic with a Caspers adaptor harness, could that have something to do with it? I'm leaning towards no.

Thanks

The chime module gets the 'headlights on' signal from either the instrument panel dimmer switch, or the Twilight Sentinel module. So that explains why the chime can be turned off via the dimmer switch.

The chime module gets a ground via pin 3 (BLK wire), be sure to check it for continuity.

Power to the chime module is via the CIG-CLK fuse (always hot), with the St Blt/ACC fuse providing input that the ignition switch is on.

I would start by checking those two fuses, and if OK, I'd try to dig up another module to see if it is the issue.

There is also an ignition-switch/door-jam switch input, but this is the door open, key in ignition warning. There is also a seat belt input for the drivers side.
