Headlight switch light up?

Is the headlight/parking light switch supposed to light up at night?

Mine doesn't, but it seems like it should, I'm curious, too.

Needs to, but, NO they don't light up.

I was trying to think back years ago to my 84 Cutlass and for some reason thought its switch did light up.
