can the heater box be removed for the summer and replaced when it starts to get cold or does it have to be in for the A/C to work? im in florida and it doesnt get cold very often and during the warm months it would make it easier to work on the engine. how hard is it to remove?

thanks:)

I've heard of an after market unit often used in street rods that's very small. I haven't been aable to get any information on one of these. I have an interest in such a unit myself.

I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle though. When I went to remove my heater box I started with the intention of saving it. But after the PURE FRUSTRATION of trying to get all the damn screws and bolts I said screw it and used a nice BFH (Big F-ing Hammer) to finish the job. I'm not sure, but I think the A/C was in the heater box as well, so it's either all or nothing as far as A/C and Heat. But as far as working on the car, getting rid of the heater box was BY FAR the best mod I've ever done to the car. #6 plug is the EASIEST plug to get to now. :)

Oh, almost forgot. When I get off this rock called Hawaii, I plan to get one of those little heater things mentioned above for heat in the winter. During the summer, that's why God invented windows and t-tops. ;)
