heater door stuck

My car is stuck on floor vent. I have heat on the floor and when I put it on vent it blows cold on the floor but my ac vents dont work.
The AC was hacked out of my car all I have is the AC rad and the part on the fire wall but the compressor and lines are missing. I have a 1980 Sport Coupe. I have tried manuals but they are different from my car. my blower mounts on top instead of on the side. are the ac vents vacuum controlled? there is this round pod on the pass fender with A vacuum line running down the fender into the pass compartment but the outher end is not connected. My car has had the 3.8 removed for a 305 I dont know why they took out the 3.8. any help would be appreciated.

The round pod sounds like the heater valve, someone must had disconect, but the vacume should be pluged. And as for the a/c vents is vacume controlled. Could be a bad vacume switch at the a/c controls or a disconnected vacume line somewhere.

Thanks I hooked up a vacuum line and presto now all my vents work with the switch. Thanks for the advise dude!
