hey guys.. i'm having some problems with the car stalling while driving.
at first i had a high CTS code in the computer, so i found out the wires were horribly repaired by the previous owner, so i fixed them, car ran great for a week.
RUH ROH.. ITS BACK. I was coming home frmo the store today and got stranded 3 times on the highway. after the first time i assumed it was the CTS sensor itself, so i unplugged it and the car started right up, got halfway home and BAM. it stalls again so i pull over on the shoulder again and sit there. after a few minutes it started back up and i continued on my way again, almost home and the car died... i coasted frmo 70 down to about 45 and it started back up by itself, i'm assuming the TC isnt locknig and the engine is just freewheeling with the tranny.
anyway, so its NOT THE CTS. and its NOT THE COILPACK.
the coil pack is a week old accel model...
now i have 3 hotair ignition modules and two 86/87 modules to work with.. i just dont have time to **** with it right now before work cause the car is sizzling hot.
The symptom can only be described as the ignition module and coil pack taking a time out. a lot of the time on the highway it will turn off for a few seconds and i'll coast and then without even letting off the gas or anything, it just comes back on, kind of like a governor in some new cars, the engine just turns off for a few seconds till you slow back down then bam it comes back on like nothing ever happened. the tach drops to 0 but the oil pressure stays up so i know the engine continues to spin...
if i try all 4 spare modules and that doesnt solve the problem, what else could it be? It's not the CTS because it still pulls this bull**** even when the CTS is unplugged..
any ideas guys? i am dying here!
thanks.
