This is driving my nuts! When it rains, the passenger side carpet is wet (both in front and behind the seat, but not under the seat) At first I thought rusty floor pans, but they are solid and the water still comes in even if the car is parked. No matter how hard I try, I cannot recreate this with a power washer or hose. What is going on here! The car has new weatherstripping but there is no sign of water getting through. HELP ME!!!

could be a hole behind the windsheild frame...

Is it a solid roof car?

its a solid roof car, the windshield has squeaked ever since it was replaced about 6 years ago, but it has only leaked since the car got repainted. I don't want to go back to the body shop because they take forever and we aren't on real good terms anymore.

It has only leaked since it was repainted?

Are you sure?

Do you think they took something off to paint it and did not put it back on right? What could it be?

The leak has to be coming from somewhere.

Take the little black cover out that sits below the glove box. Take the black plastic "bucket" that is the glove box out also. Pull up the carpet and insulation also.

Get up in there real close with a flashlight and have a friend shoot water from all different angles. Be patient.

It could also be your opera window. You may want to pull out the back seat and remove the passenger seat and pull up the passenger side carpet. Check to make sure the floor pan drain plugs and passenger seat bolts are not the cuase.

You had batter plan on coating the floor plan with some POR-15 after you get the problem fixed. Just to prevent any future rust problems.

Pull your inside door cover off and see if they re-installed the weatherseal (treated paper caulked to the door itself). Some shops just tear this off and throw away and this does prevent water that gets past the glass weatherstrip from coming into the interior behind the door panel. If it's missing it won't take long for moisture to ruin the cardboard of your upper door panel.;)
