Higher timing = knock

I can run a 93 chip with 18.5 (highest boost I have tried) with no knock.
I changed to a 100 chip and I start getting knock before I even get to WOT.
This has happened with different brands of chips.
Is this a tuning problem or does my engine not like timimg?
Why can some engines run more timimg than others?
I am running alky.

Yes..

Akly isnt the end to all the octane requirement in the world.It works better on low timing high boost than the reverse..Ya can get away with a lot..but timing is one of those areas..

Maybe try bringing in the alchy earlier?
