Hole in RJC boost controller?

Im looking at my RJC controller, and then looking at the one online, and the elbow that is at the end where it leads to the wastegate, has a tiny hole in it.

Is this hole supposed to be there?

Also, I opened it up, and I am not sure if anything dropped or not..is there supposed to be just the spring and ball inside?

well,it is only like the size of the end of a pen.

Just small enough for air to get out of.
