Hot Air hood engine pads

Looking for a new engine under hood pad for our '84/'85's does anyone make these? One with the turbo logo and heat shields. Love to have a new one!!

I bought a new one several years ago and it is still in the box. It is not for sale and it cost around $400. I spoke with Glen Boiko at nos4gn Buick Grand National Parts Home Page and he indicated that they do not exist. Try Brian at GBODYPARTS. Use the phone though and skip the website. Both of these vendors have alot more than they can list on the internet. Good luck. Brad

Hey thanks Brad for that info. I kind of thought that may be the case. Another hard to find item for our cars. Maybe they might become an aftermarket part. There would be plenty of interest in these with all the T's and GN's still around I'm sure. That turbo heat has taken it's toll I'm sure on a lot of hood pads over the years. I will have to keep searching the salvage yards and keep my eyes open for one in good shape.

If you find a regular GN hood liner you can make it work. You would need to buy a heat shield from Mark Huffman or make your own. I would suggest lining the hood liner with heat protective material before hanging and if you use a larger shield like the one offered by Mark Huffman to protect the liner from the heat of the turbo. We lined mine (and it was set up for the 84-85 so it had the shield built in but we added the Mark Huffman shield for added protection. I know there was an aftermarket company that was doing these liners at one time. It may have been Jax's?
