how reliable are the hot air engines? i know the 86-87's are known to go strong well into the 150k+ without any problems. I ask b/c the 84 GN i might buy has 105k and supposedly was "rebuilt" about 20k miles ago and im goin to be daily driving it. I know a good deal about the intercooled engines but im new to the pre 86 turbo regals. Thanks

I would say there pretty good , last summer i drove 80 miles to the track when i was running in the 12's and then drove home very late at night with no problems. I also have my foot to the floor all the time and most cars would never hold up to what i give them, but my car is still running. If you get the car make sure you buy a oil pressure gauge to make sure every thing is ok.

I would want to know why it had to be rebuilt at 80K miles. Who did the work, and what parts were used. As for reliability, that is subjective, it shouldn't be unreliable but I doubt it will be as relliable as a toyota.

Should be every bit as reliable as the IC motors since the heads down are basically the same.
