Hello,
I want to spruce up my 84' GN.

I would like new interior carpet. I noticed the 84 GN has a more "tan" looking carpet while the 86/87 GN is true grey.

What exact color is the 84 carpet??

Also I would like to repaint the semi gloss black wheel well (metal lip) trim pieces. What kind of paint is the correct paint?

Lastly. My T-roof plastic interior side trim is more 'tan' unlike the grey on the later 86/87 cars. What kind of paint can i get to repaint this? or perhaps where could i order these plastic pieces.

thanks in advance for any help.

I would check out thr Hot Air Registry and e-mail an 84 GN owner. The stock 85GN carpet is black. Brad

i think a company called SEM makes the right color paints...

the 84 cars got unique everything.. my stock carpet was also kinda tan, and the pillars and all of hte interior plastic is off-white...

i dunno about you, its been awhile since ive seen my friends old 84 gn, so i dont remember if his was the same, but my dash is actually a weird dark blue/green!

The carpet I ordered for my 84 was called "light sand grey" and it matched the old one pretty well.

all my trim is a tan color the dash and steering wheel is a dark grey. its impossible to find people to have new replacemant stuff i could get a close color but it dont match correctly. i would like to find correct color stuff scince i have to replace all my interior and dont want to put the 86-87 interior in it.

i called him and went over there and he said he don't do the 84 interior at all. and he wont do it for no amount of money. i have most of the plastic pieces but they are from an 87 with the grey color to paint tan

id suggest you sell the 87 pieces to someone that needs them.

then find someone selling some WAY more common brown, blue, or maroon interior pieces, and paint them instead..

i forgot to mention that my 84 parts are all scratched. thats why i found 87 parts to paint

My 84 TType is all scratched in the interior as well. Until I find replacement parts, I have used plenty of Armor All to keep everything as preserved as can be. I have seen liner cloth for sale on e-bay. They say that they carry all colors. For the doors, there was a post a while back on how to re-do the cloth on the upper and lower door panels. I havn't done this yet, but here is the link:

Also, BWEAVY does the doors at gbodyparts.com. IMHO he is a little pricy, but you know the job is going to get done right. I have only heard great feedback about him.

If anybody needs seats, I have a full set of front bucket and rear bench seats. They are the tan color of course, and came out of my 84 TType. They are in mint condition and stored safely. I have pic's if anybody is interested. Just drop me a line.

I had a pint of sandstone paint mixed up a while back to redo some '84 GN interior panels. We sprayed a couple of A-pillar trim pieces & they turned out nice. The remainder of the paint is for sale and I can get more if need be.
