hot air turbo on '86 ?

First off, is it possible to mount this turbo onto an IC car? Any way for me to identify what turbo 'I do have (#'s or somthing?) thanks, Ben

The hotair turbo will mount on an intercooled application with no problems. It will not have the power the 86/7 turbo's will, but it will work on the system quite well. I've known a few guys who have done this, and even ran some good numbers at the track . Theres a serial # on the lower section of the compressor. That will identify what year turbo it is. You can also do a physical comparission with the external and internal characteristics on the gnttype.org turbo section to see if you can identify your turbo.

The mounting ears on the exhaust side will have to be moved to the hotair turbo since they're different and the wastegate will sit a little different but should work. The hotair turbo also has a larger outlet.
