hot start problem

Looking for hot start problem solution

Starter doesn't spin engine over, extended cranking and no start, starts and dies? Gonna need more info.

My late 1987 GN refuses to start when hot and has been sitting for 30 minutes or so. It starts instantly when cold, and it re-starts when hot after being shut off for only a couple of minutes. The problem occurs after it has been sitting roughly 30 minutes. The engine turns over as it should. There is even a small hint of firing at times, but not enough to keep the engine running. I have had this car since new -- and this is the first time this has been a problem.

Fuel pressure when this is happening?
How old is the fuel pump and filter?
How old is the coil and ignition box under it?

Thanks a million for the help.
I have not measured the fuel pressure -- will do so.
The fuel pump is the original 1987 unit, but the fuel filter is two years old. I think the ignition box and coil are the originals I suspect I should simply replace these components regardless. 35 years service is not bad.
