No, and depends on your local gas. They're cheap so every couple of years or so. Make sure you have the right wrenches though, otherwise you'll might strip or round off the the heads.

Easier on a lift or with the car jacked up.

Yeah you need a rag or bucket to dump the filter and some gas in from the line.

VERY easy to twist off the metal line if you don't use some PBBlaster and flare nut wrenches.

Start spraying the two fittings today and tomorrow.

Take them off on tuesday. :)

Lucky you are in TX. ;)

Just did mine today. Took about 5 minutes to do after I got the fittings loose:)

De-pressurize the system by unplugging the eletrical connector at the gas tank or pulling a fuse while the car is running.

Get the correct flare nut wrenches so you don't ruin the nuts.

Penetrating oil is your friend.

Do NOT use heat to crack the nuts:)

Don't smoke while doing this:)

No matter what you do to get the gas out of the line, there will still be gas in the line. It will stay there until it has a chance to run down your arm, so you might as well be prepared for that. The gas lines are pretty stiff on my car, I have to loosen the clamp the holds the filter, after I have the filter nuts loose, and pull it away from the frame to get enough clearance to get the filter loose from the lines.
