I need to know how to remove the mounts from the frame? i see there is nuts and bolts but cant figure out the best way to get inside the frame for a wrench to hold the bolt head. is there something im missing i was told to remove an A arm but dont want to go that route. any help or tips or even the size of the stock bolt heads would be great help. thanks

Some bolts you can get to with an extention with swivel and socket. Others you can get with a box end wrench. If all else fails use a cutting torch to cut off the nut or head of the bolt.

When I did it to swap a Olds V8 into a Regal, I was able to get my socket in through the holes on the bottom side of the frame and wrench on the top side. With some manipulation, you can get them out without removing the A arms. Good luck!

I swapped the Buick mounts onto my El Camino frame. I had none of the front end components on the car (upper and lower A arms) and was able to reach inside the frame with a wrench. If there's another way I didn't see it.

The easy way to do it is a 4 1/2 grinder just cut the bolts off. Other wise you'll be down there for a while if it's your first time doing it.

if i cut them off how will i be able to get the new mounts on when the time comes? Wonder why they did not just do threaded holes on the frame like the s10's

Why are you taking them off? If your putting in a different motor then you will need the other frame mounts. If your looking to clean them up then I would try and do it with them on the frame. Otherwise get some universal joints and some extentions and have a crack at it. I gaurantee you will be cursing when you go to put them back on. Its not too bad taking them off though. take a picture so you know how they where sitting before you remove them.
