Without solenoid your boost would be the same in all gears-no bleed off.And your boost would be what ever wastegate is set at.If your blowing fuses, check tcc by disconnecting it first.

Get about 25psi. of regulated shop air and a hose and put it into one port.

Get a boost gauge or pressure gauge or your hand and put it over the other port.

With no power to the solenoid no air should be felt or pressure read on the gauge.

When you put 12 volts accross the solenoid using the terminal that has the pink/black wire to it from the factory harness as where to put your +12 battery lead and the other terminal can go to a good ground, you should feel air escaping and read it on a gauge hooked up there.

They rarely go bad.

Attach a piece of vacuum hose to the open (exhaust) side of the solenoid and run the hose from under the hood, through the passenger window and into the interior of your car. This requires about 6-7 feet of hose. Attach a relatively large party ballon to the hose end inside the car. Go for a drive and bring up the boost slightly. If the solenoid is functioning, you will see the ballon begin to fill. This is a good visual method to check several aspects of the boost control system.

Ditch it and get a $10 Manual Boost Controller on ebay.

Problems solved and spool up is much better. ;)
