HVAC tube?

What is it and what does it do? I'm looking at getting my A/c service and want to take care of anything I'm able to do...thanks.

You've got a rodent problem!!! That tube is for circulating air to the motor, I presume to help cool it.
If you've got mice eating that rubber, that means you've got chewed wiring throughout!!!
