how much does the IAC come into play with MPG and open/closed loop?

My IAC seems to be off, like 48-60 in D at light when warm and the car doesn't want to seem to go into closed loop all the time...

i just did an injector swap but i don't think that will have anything to do with it..

TPS is also at .42..should i try adjusting both of them?

just need to know how much of a role the IAC plays in the things i mentioned above..
 
Open/closed loop

The IAC has nothing to do with going into closed loop. Do you have a heated 02? If not your car wont stay in closed loop. (noticed this one time pulled over by cops, car came out of closed loop with new stock 02) put the heated one back in car will stay in closed loop. All cars are differant, but my car likes IAC around mid 20's in park, mid 40's in drive. Not sure but I thought the thrasher people want the IAC 10-20 in park 30-40 in drive (engine hot):cool:
 
the Thrasher chip you are using idles in open loop, so you will see it change from open to closed loop as you go on & off idle....
 
i know it will idle in open loop, but i'm talking about when i'm driving, if it goes over like 2000-2300 rpms i go into open loop, or at least that's what it appears to be on the SM, O2's dont' jump around really at all...
