If you want it to close up, just put the computer in diagnostic mode for about a minute and it will run the IAC shut.
If you want to actually go through resetting it, I'll let someone else tell you that. I set them via the factory reset procedure and no on else does it that way anymore.

It really should be +-100 RPM of whatever your chip commands the idle to but yea.. thats the correct way to do it.
