Ic Chip In Hot Air

I recently picked up a clean 84 T-type--It had been sitting for about 5yrs (had 99 tags) and the injectors were bad, I had a set of newer 42.5 injectors so I put them in and installed a chip for those injectors out of my 87GN--now I get code 51. Will an 87 chip not work in a 84?----If not any suggestions where I can get one?

i know the different years carry different info. the 87 computer has a lot more you can moniter on a scantool, so me guess would be the chip would be the problem. Try a different chip.

Wont work. Need 84/85 chip for stock ECM. Get one burned (Joe Lubrandt at PTE is a good choice) or........ you can upgrade to a 86/87 ECM for minimal cost and labor. Benefits include better/more data with scantool and greater chip availibility. you can pick up a used 87 ECM in the part section for like $40

then all you gotta do it go to caspers electronics and purchase the Mat sensor
and your good to go
