ok guys i have a question regarding some injectors i bought. i bought a set of 42.5lb. injecotrs from Postons and a 42.5lb chip from a local vendor. i put everything in and started it up and ithad a bad miss. after figuring out that it was anyting i hooked up i treid my thrasher chip for stock injectors with the 42.5lb injecotrs and the car started up and ran but didnt miss at all. i took it for a ride with the thrasher and the car would stumble and stall at lights and blow run like crap all around. so i figured it was the chip so i asked the vendor to make me antoher one and he did. he tested it first so i tried it out on my car and it didn the same thing it missed at idle and when just driving. my question is do i have 30lb. green stripe in there instead of the 42.5lb ones?? could poston have mixed htem up since both of them have green stripes i beelive? i looked at my injecotrs and got some number of of them here they are: 621031 & on the other side 03181aa. what injecotrs do i have that they miss with the right chip but dont with the stock injector chip? my other quesiton is how bad will the car run with the big injecotrs in it and a stock turbo. i have a booger turbo to put on just not yet. im hoping that is not why the car is missing casue the injector is too big for the turbo or soetkihg. any help would be great thanks again, sorry so long
 
That is the number for 009s and you will see posted very often that the 009s seem to have stumble problems. People post that they are pleased with the Jim Testa chips for 009s.
 
hmmmm i may have some probs here then. if those are the numbers for the 42.5lb. injectors then i have the right ones. and being as you mentioned about the testa chip that is the chip i have. i asked him for antoher and it still does the prob so i dont think its the chip at all since he tested it out first. why does the miss go away when i put in the chip for the stock injectors? what could be wroing with this prob. i mean it misses bad when just giving a litttle gas, it misses bad holding the gas pedal down a little in park, its slow to spool and when gettting on it, it pops a little and hten cleans up a little when im on it all the way. what could be casing this?? anyones help is greatly appreciated.
 
Might try this, I copied from a previous post:
Well, it looks like my tip in stumble may be cured thanks to another board member. He stated that his stumble was helped by turning his cam sensor ~ 1/8 turn counterclockwise from the factory spec. Yesterday I set the cam sensor to spec and it still stumbled, turned it 1/8th turn ccw and no more stumble, not even taking it out in the cold today.
 
42'Z and a stock chip

A stock chip w/ a 42.5 PPh injector will do a great job of making the engine super fat. Maybe that's why no tip in stumble, but nasty elsewhere??
When you set this up, did you set the Fp at about what??? 40 line off?
What are your scan tool readings? You DO have 1, right???:eek:
what's the rest of the combo??
 
ok the combp is in the sig but i have added a power plate and thats all. its not a tip in stumble its a mis. like i have a bad wire or plug but i dont. i try to spool it up and it misses and pops. i was out playing with it with the stcok injector chip and it seems to be getting a miss as well just not as bad. i do not have a scan tool at hte moment, so i have nothing on that part. what would casue the car to miss a little with this chip and alot with the right chip for the 42.5's? hmmmm getting confusing and everything is in the right spot like the wires and harness. im confused and frustarted this is holding me back form putting the bigger turbo on. thanks again guys
 
If you removed the spark plug wires make sure they are back in the right place.
 
Not really up on hot airs but when my MAF went bad it did something like that. Would sputter and miss intermittently. Unfortunately you don't have a scan tool to check this out...:(
 
MAF sesnor is new on the car and this prob is for a 1986 intercooled drivetrain. i checked out all the wires and harness for the injectors and everything is lined up right any other ideas? what would cause the car to miss alot with the right chip and only a little with the wrong chip? just trying to spool the car up at a lgiht it misses and sputters. thanks for all the help so far
