There are two coolant type sensors on the front of the intake one on top with a two wire plug and one on the front with a single wire hook-up. Wich one would be best to remove / replace for the installation of my new water temp gauge that came with it's own sender??

The single wire unit (Engine temp switch AKA "Idiot light controller")
You need the "2 wire" sensor (Engine Temp sensor)

Hate to disagree but if I remember correctly, the front one (single wire) is easier to get to and since he has his own sending unit this one would be the easiest unless he wants to keep the idiot light. I'm assuming he is also wiring the guage to sending unit. I'll take a look at mine tomorrow to make sure but I believe thats how I did it. Works great:)

You read him wrong, he said to take the one out with the one wire and leave the one with two.
