I am a member of a The Jalopy Journal or The H.A.M.B. as it is also known, which is a traditional Hot Rod message board. It's a pretty cool site and is pretty much more lax in regards to alot of the rules, etc other boards have.
Anyway one thing over there that I like that I think could be instituted here is they have a rule that your first post has to be an Introduction of yourself. You tell a little about your background and why you are there. It's not a huge deal but it does help when you have new members so you can get a feel where they are coming from. Funny thing is I notice almost no Trolls over there. Be careful if you don't type an intro first though as some of those guys will jump all over you.
They also have ranks that go with the Post Count.
FNG= F****** New Guy
Newbie= post count above 25
Grenade Inspector= above 100
Senior Member= not sure but you get the idea
