Well I took the driveshaft off today to do a leaky pinion seal and when I went to put it back in I noticed that the output shaft on the trans is REALLY loose. You can take it from one side of the seal to the other with just 1 finger. It can really wiggle around easily. Is this amount of play normal?

Probably not. I believe there is a tailshaft bushing that probably needs replacement. I had mine wollar out the bushing when I over torqued my stock driveshaft  and bent it slightly.... putting everything out of balance....

HTH

You need to check for play with the driveshaft yoke installed, the output shaft will move around without the yoke installed. If there is excessive play with the yoke installed, remove the extension housing and inspect the brass bushing. If it's worn, they are relatively inexpensive.

It's good with the driveshaft in. Phew...All I don't need with this car is more $$ into it. thanks guys!
