I can get a 200-4r out of a Monte Carlo that was just rebuilt. Is it worth it? I know its not a BFR, can I convert it to a BFR? I can get this trans fairly cheap but is it worth messing with a non-BFR trans?
 
Depends on how much $$ and which Monte Carlo tranny... is it the CZF coded one out of an SS?

If it is a CZ some say they can be a pretty good alternative to a BRF.

I am positive the guru's can add more than my $.02

All you need to do is install a GN servo or a billet one. To be honest as Greg said , I would just install as is and run. I will bet anybody side by side a BRF and CZ could not be told apart in performance , other than servo diameter. Driving would be the same. I have a few customers that requested a cz for their Turbo Regal, because one of the only differences in the cz is the fact they kickdown earlier in the throttle position. With some combos and turbo configs this could be a beneficial thing. Think about it.... Anyway , bolt it in........:D

ok, i don't like the idea having my speedo off, can i just take the gear out of my 700r4 that's setup for the 3.27 rear and throw it in the 200?

Also, i'm worried about the shift points..also i'll probably get bruce's shift kit :D:D:D

i'll keep you guys posted, any more info please pass it along :)
 
i think i'm going to snatch it up, i can get a TTA xmember for 150 and i can get a driveshaft cheap :)
