WHATS UP GUYS......i was able too get the engine running today..thanks to everyone that helped....so i set out this morning to find the problem....i said, well lets start over and check everything...i bust out the volt/ohm meter and plan to check sensors and the such...i turn over the maf after disconnecting and WHAM!!!! there it is a f!@#$d up terminal to the maf....what do ya know that was it....i wasnt in the garage not 5 minutes and there it was...problem solved for rich condition....ran engine for cam break in and all went well.....so after oil and filter change i let it idle and here are the things i want too get straightened out...
1. it idles about 725 and i have fp at 42# line off...i seem too have this stumble or miss in the idle every so often....what do you think???other wise idles good....
2. i am using a new cover from postons...booster plate...stock oil pump...and 60# long plain spring....i have an idle pressure of 15...and 35 at 2200....i think it can be better....what do you think???
let me know what other info you might need....thanks again guys..vinny

I knew it was a Maf probelm :D

Your Oil Pressure is fine - thats hot idle right?

Hmmm...I thought I mentioned checking the MAF last week??? :D

Glad to see you got it going...

First off, I wouldn't worry too much about the idle...You are using the stock chip which is calibrated for the stock injs and not the 30# you have in there, right??? The stock injs probably have a slightly different flow curve than the 30#ers... I'm sure that if you had one of the chip gurus custom burn you a chip for the injs you have, that stumble would probably disappear...But before I would have a chip burned, I would swap to the 87 ecm...Jay C and Joe L have burned chips for the hotair cars using the 87 ecm and the 85 MAF...The 86/7 MAF isn't really needed if yours is still good...Then when your 85 MAF goes out, I would upgrade to the MAF translator and Imp SS MAF and have your chip redone with the 87 MAF calibrations...much, much more info available with a scantool hooked up when using the 87 ecm...

And second, your oil pressure is fine...check it after you have driven the car some and keep an eye on it...As long as you have at least 10 psi/1000 rpms, you are okay...

I'm gettin smarter everyday...congrats NOKA. I hate to learn from someone's pain but I guess that's the beauty of this whole thing.....tear it up dude..!!

WHATS UP GENTLEMAN.....set up the iac and tps today ....idles good.....now too drive it and work out the bugs:eek: ...thanks again vinny
