I was looking at that ad Saturday thinking "If I was a Mustang guy, that would be the @HIT!"

I think they are crazy for selling the engine. I had it built by a company in Texas. New shortblock with Forged Cobra Steel crank, Forged Manley H-Beam Rods, Forged CP pistons, & all ARP fasterners. It was rated for 900+ hp and that was because of the rods. The pistons were rated for 1400 hp. I also bought a set of heads with that shortblock that were P&P and flowed 247 intake and 218 on the exhaust side.

I spent alot of money on that engine and it would have easily put the car in the 9s. My car ran mid 11s @ 121+ mph on 93 octane and 12 psi with that setup in 90 degree heat. I would have never broken the engine with such a mild tune.

Everything happens for a reason I guess. Now I have a beautiful GN in the garage with my eye on a TA-63 turbo & bare heads that are going to Merkel's for the full treatment. I think with a TA-63, fuel, 3200 stall Multi-disc, & Ported & polished irons with larger valves, I can put my GN in the 11s on pure 93 octane.

Not plenty with that turbo kit. It was a prototype that we tested from TDC(Turbo Driven Concepts) and they went out of business a year or 2 ago so those kits are next to impossible to get. That kit went for $6,995 and had the best parts available. I paid about $2800 for it and went 10s on the first pass off the trailor at E-town on a pump gas tune on the bone stock longblock. No stock 4.6 SOHC GTs did that and MM&FF was kind enough to put my car on the cover and have a several page article on it.
