Just posted it in the lounge. http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/turbo-lounge/359704-almost-set-record-bonniville.html
With Lou out of town and wanting us to stay out of trouble; I figured that I'd try and keep my nose clean and do some good. I've been on a drag race pit crew for many years (Comp Eliminator A/Dragster). However, I'm new to this streamliner pit crew and it was my first time to the salt flats of Bonniville. I hope that Lou's not upset with me, but I may have contracted a bad case of salt fever while he was gone.:D

Happy spooling.

Naaaa.

There's no way that I'd subject my nice GN to all that corrosive salt, or it might end up looking like....

Hey Tim, how IS your car doing these days?

Mike B.

However, I might consider running a TTA out there. It's got much better arrowdynamics for that sort of stuff. I'd probably do a air to water intercooler, packed full of ice.

Something to ponder.

Looks like you had a great time, Mike. How fast were you guys able to push that thing?

hello; Very nice. Tell us briefly on the engine and any additives if you don't mind.
thanks

The record in this class is 322 mph. We went 336 mph, with a exit speed of 342 mph. Problem is, We broke the car on the second pass. You need to run twice for the record to hold. We've got the speed covered like a wet blanket. Just needed a little luck. That, and some extra parts for the rear end.

Well, it's got two too many cylinders. It's missing the squirrel cage, and it doesn't have AC or cruise.

Other then these defects, it's a N/A Dodge R5 motor with 357 CID. Runing a single four barrel carb. I cant say all the details, but it does make over 800 HP.

I'd worry more about the aerodynamics....since I'm not sure what arrowdynamics are....

...it's a N/A Dodge...
Mike B.

Well there's the problem....it's a Nopar....

That's awesome mike, what broke, maybe the chicken can loan his motor out . He claims it never breaks. I'm still here in Buffalo. Tuned a boat & working on my nephews Nova. The Vette I bought is running good but it rained & got wet. Now I'm probably going to have to sell it. lol

Mike was using an analogy to describe the drag coefficient of a TTA. Then again, being a TTA owner, I really wouldn't know a good analogy for the brick.....I mean buick.

Sorry, can't put the chicken motor in the streamliner. The tech guys would get all pissy when it dripped black oil spots all over their nice white salt. I did put a sheep sticker on the car. Here's a shot of Skip, trying to explain the sticker to the kids that showed up for autographs. I think they left more confused then when they showed up. That might be for the better.

You'd think the guy was John Force.

You now what they say....

It aint oil drippin'.....
It's sweat....from all the horsepower....

hello; Tell me is TurboLou (Lou's Automotive) and Lou Czarnata the same guy? And is the Lou in the first post that guy? Just curious.

hello; I've seen your name bounced around alot. Too bad your on the left coast. Thanks for filling in a few blanks.

Hey!
Back off, East Coast!
He's not your nata....he's Czarnata!!!

Get it?
....see what I did there?
....he's Czarnata....sounds like....he's our nata....Cz(arnata).....he's(our nata)....

I aint one to brag but....Gawd I'm brilliant!!!

Here's a really cool, 3000 HP diesel truck that I saw running on the salt. This monster goes through 6 gallons of diesel on a pass. It's got four turbos and two superchargers, powering a tugboat engine.

WARNING! Not tree hugger friendly.

Here it is, passing our pits, at the 3 mile mark.

Have a few more crazy photos, if any one wants to see. Might as well. It's a bit slow here.

More pix!

Dang....that thing puts up a nice cloud....

The USS Midway used to do that during high speed runs in the South Pacific....we called the smoke trail our cloaking device...

Here ya go.
Saw this one on the salt. It was in Hot Rod Magazine a year or two ago. It's got a supercharged Packard engine. I wouldn't call it a rat rod. The fabrication is way too nice. The dude that owns it is cool too. He talked our ear off for about twenty minutes.
