Well, I finally decided it was time to get rid of the Nittos on my GN. I was never really happy with them, so I sold them to a buddy of mine. So, now its time for slicks right?

Im curious........how many of you have 16" wheels and slicks? Im running GTA rims if that helps. I have *heard* that Hoosier is making a 16" FULL SLICK?? Can somebody confirm that? Or do I just have to settle for 16" ET streets?

Also, I planned on 26x10.5s for my car. Do you think I should try 27-28" tires or wait for more mods? Thanks for the help guys.

PS- I dont want to hear the "you need to go back to 15" wheels to hook....bla bla bla bla." The car has 16s, and its staying that way. Thanks fellas.;)

You need to go back to 15" wheels to hook! :)

Seriously though, the Hoosier QT Pros or full slicks are your best choice IMESHO. I would also consider a 27" or 28" tire for that kick ass top end MPH charge!!

Whatever Mr TTA (with 16s). What do you intend to run when you start getting really fast? heh heh heh

My GN has run 110.42mph before. Anybody else? Thanks

I'll prolly go back to the Hoosiers or the M&H Racemaster in a 305/45/16 size. Actually the aforementioned tire wouldn't be a bad idea for you as well....it's DOT approved, hooks like a motha, and has a pretty good amount of rubber for the $$$ they fetch. I can remember years ago Steve S. was running the M&H's on the street and he never had traction problems! Crabby said they are decent in the rain, but don't grip as well as the Nitto or BFG when it's wet. Then again, I've never seent your GN out on other than nice days anyhow. As for "start going really fast", how much faster does the TTA have to run befoe you consider it "fast"? It took me years to get my GN to run consistantly 120+mph in the 1/4 mile, this car is making it oh too easy:) I should have the new TE44 back by next week sometime, just in time to hit KCIR on the 27th and run 121 mph...(getting cocky now):) Actually, Crabby is going to loan me his M&H's for Noble.....low 1.6's here we come! I think with a great hook (1.60 or lower), the TTA will run a mid to low 11 at 121 mph pretty easily. The MPH is there for a 11.3x-11.2x as it sits, we'll see what happens??? When are you planning to leave for Noble? I think pops and I are leaving early Friday sometime, and returning early Sunday sometime. IS your pops going?

I seem to recall Mickey Thompson ET Drags being available in a 26x10.0x16. You might also want to check into ET Streets.

I was looking at the Hoosier 16 in also because i run the GTA rims. However they are 28 in tall and section width of 12in and tread width of 10.3 in and i think that they would rub alot. I sure would like to hear from someone with our rims and without any mods to the rear quarter wheel well lip to see if its possible to use these. Ive spoken with M&H about a 28 in tire that has a little narrower section width and they said they would seriously consider making a tire this size. Tom at M&H mentioned though that it probably wouldnt be available till next March. Would love to here some more inputs on this subject.

Exactly. Ive been caught in the rain twice since Ive had it. The car isnt raced much, but when I do race, Id like to be able to hook. I guess I want the best of both worlds. Id like to be able to tool around on the street on nice days, but also be able to go to the track and pull 1.7s or better. As of now, Id like to stray from buying another pair of GTA's for slicks since the car needs transmission work. Do you OR ANYBODY ELSE have any more information on these 305/45R16s? Are they a true slick or do they have "tread". IE- are the street legal?

I was just giving you crap cause Im jealous

I plan on having my dad come down here to Pitt either Thursday evening or Friday morning. Then leave here from Pitt. Whats the deal with hotel rooms, etc. Email me or Ill talk to you about it. Id like to go. Pops and I will probably just drive the T-type down and watch.

If it helps any, I am using the Hoosier 28x10x16 slicks on Centerline 16x8 rims with 4" BS. Without a doubt, these tires hook! They are true slicks though, not DOT's. I sure like the fact that my wheels match at the track :D

c&cgn, was your 1.55 60ft on those tires? If so, thats impressive! Also, do you have any pictures of what these tires look like on the car. Im very interested to see how tall they sit since my GN sits fairly low.

Also, do you guys think I should run 28s with my setup? Stock turbo, stock IC, blue tops, 206 cam, etc.
