i went out and bought a k&n filter but i only put it inside the engine bay is this wrong? im thinking that the air inside the bay is to hot. My scan master reads HOT. im not sure if that is the reason? thanks

I have my K&N inside too but its close by the charcoal canister. I seen it a few times running HOT.

It will work fine in th eengine compartment but if you do locate it outside the engine compartment, you will see a BIG difference in incomming air tenps which = more hp. I used to see temps of th eincomming air around 120* on a hat summer day idling and now with the filter behing the headlamp those temps are usually a few degrees above outside ambient. BIG difference
