Knock/Detonation Sensor

Have a 79 and am wanting to know if a 79-83 will work on mine. I found the connectors on Rock Auto but not the sensor. Anyone know where I can find one? Thanks

78-82 used the same accelerometer sensor. 1983 and later was the piezo sensor.

The early style sensor was about $100 when available.

Rich, can the 1983 piezo sensor be used? It's the only one I can find and it's at Rock Auto under Exhaust & Emission. It doesn't say piezo but it must be. My original is broken and I don't have a clue how to replace it.

Unfortunately I have no idea. I do believe it can be swapped on a 1981/82 along with the correct ESC module, but that's doesn't help you with a Turbo Control Center.

Yes, I know about J&S. Some of the sensors at RA are cheep enough to try one before getting the J&S. I've got enough in this engine already but can't afford not to protect it. Thanks Rich
