What is the largest tire that will fit the 86-87 T wheel?

For me it was a 275-60-15 MT drag radial. Close, but no rubbing anywhere.

295/50R15 I used the Futura brand made by Cooper tire. Bought at Pep Boys a few years back. Only rub when you have lots of people in the rear or when you take hard corners. With good rear sway bar (ie: HR parts..) no rubbing.

I had BFG 275-50-15 with 1/4" spacer so it wouldn't rub on frame, instead it rubbed on outside! It's perfect for driving in a straight line! I couldn't stand it around town.

275/50/15's on my 87 GN wheels was real close. After driving on them for a couple months, I noticed a slight wear on the driver side from rubbing. Took the wheel off and put a washer on each stud, problem solved. Only had to do one side
