...had a 100% stock showroom new grand national, and I installed FAST and tuned it, with traction, would there be a power benefit justifying the cost?

Or am I off my rocker? ;)

IMHO the GM engineers did a fine job at driveability. With a few tweaks the stock ECM can run BEEEEAAAUUUUUUUUUUeautiful. I'm yet to get my car running as well with the FAST as I did with the stock ECM. I'm wondering if it can be done. It seems you gain here, but lose there type of scenario.

Plus with a FAST you lose control over emissions devices. If your state does emissions, that is a definate concern.
 
I figured it would be hard to beat the stock ECM, see the story behind it is that I got into an argument with some one at the track last weekend about this, and he refused to believe that the stock ECM could provide better drivability and such. So we bet, and I just won $50 ;)
