Life without a working turbo...

As most of you know I lost my other end to my wastegate rod (don't ask!) and I have been without boost for about a week now. I will say this...our cars are complete DOGS without our turbos! I have floored it a couple times and it was like I wasn't going anywhere. Now I know what the N/A Regal guys go through.

This car is getting very boring and I want my boost back!!! How many of you have driven your GN without the turbo running? At least I haven't come across any races yet although the other night I was with some friends in a parking lot and a punk in a Porsche pulls up and yells "I will race anyone here" and I had to back down because I had no boost!

sigh...oh well boost will be back shortly I hope...till then I have to grit my teeth when I want to pass someone!

A buddy of mine picked all the stuff up at the hardware store to do his home made adjustable wastegate actuator. He didn't know that all you had to do was chop about 1/2" out of the original arm. He had the nuts, lock nuts and the arm. I can find out where he got it if you want me to.

Well, at least you havent been in the "my car is gonna run tommorrow" stage for two weeks like I have. I would like to have mine running even without the turbo right now.

I feel your pain!

My stock D5 TC went psycho on me and chewed up all the teeth on the shaft going into the tranny, so I had to use a ''temporary'' 200-4R to drive it to a friends place to have the tranny rebuilt and put back in, and it was out of an Olds. The Temp tranny wouldn't build boost, there a bit different from ours, so I was like god I'd rather shoot it like a lame horse than drive it without booooost. But I decided to drive it and fix it instead of shoot it
