Did GM ever produce an 87 Limited with black out trim? I've seen several with chrome trim but never one with black trim.

It's not super rare ,it seems like most limiteds i look at have the black out package(w02) I think it's official name was sport appearance package.
I've had 3 limiteds and they all had the w02 option and there is a blue one near me that also has the w02

Here is a pic of the last one, obviously the black painted bumpers and wheels were not part of the w02, the previous owner did that.
I personally like the chrome cars better, especially in the dark colored cars, the chrome or stainless really stands out against the dark color nicely.
The blackout cars also didn't get the wide chrome rocker moldings that the chrome cars did and look a little plain in comparison for what is supposed to be a fancier more dressed up ,more upscale version of the regal.
The black out disapears into the darker colored cars and makes them look kind of unfinished to me.
The Chrome came standard and the black out was an extra cost option.
The limited badges were removed from the rear quarters but if you look closely at the pic you can see the column shifter and the tops of the pillow type limited seats.

I agree with you, I like chrome on a dark car as well. The black does look nice on the lighter colors. Almost gives it a two tone effect. Very nice car BTW. Love the leather interior!!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but a column shifter and pillow pads are not solely indicative of a real Limited, as several Regals are optioned like this too. What letter does your car have in the 5th position of its vin? To add a few more features, does it have plastic door panels, plush floor carpeting, and a dash plaque that says Regal Limited and glows?

I was just curious if they made a Limited T with black out trim. I'm sure there are other specifics that really identify if the vehicle is in fact a true Turbo Regal Limited tho.

Yes, blackout trim is the sport package as stated above, W02. But on order to identify a true Limited Turbo T, you need to check the vin. The fifth position will always be "M," all other 87 TRs will have "J."

Yes m code, limited door panels, lighted dash panel and thicker carpet , very familiar with them.

I know column auto didn't only come in the Limited ,but all limited's were column auto,I just pointed those options out because in the pic the Limited badges are missing.

I've never seen or heard of a 87 non limited with the Limited seats.
If you have pictures or documentation of " several " 87 turbo regals that are not a Limited and came factory with pillowed seats, either leather like the one above or cloth I'd like to see it,(Now that would be RARE ) and THAT would burst my bubble.
In " 86 " there was some that had the pillowed seats and i believe the nicer door panels also, but were not called a Limited, I think you could just order those options, but in 87 it became it's own model with a bunch of options standard, (pillow seats, column auto, plush carpet, dash plaque, door panels) and it's own designated vin code and model name.

Here's one of my old Limited T's that I sold last year. White with WO2 package, with maroon pillow seats. It was a really nice combo. I also had a dark blue limited T that I sold years ago. That one had the chrome package with grey leather.

The guy I sold the white one to has been relisting it constantly on ebay. (If I told you what I sold it to him for, you'd cry.) If anyone is interested in it, I urge you to contact me first, as I pretty much know the car in and out.

I think that white one is on e-bay now.
I posted it up here earlier but then took it down because i think it is a car dealer and didn't want to give him the free advertisement.
I also think he is asking too much for it.

You are correct t-typinator. That is the car. I sold it for a song, compared to that asking price. It does has some some significant issues. I'd be more than happy to talk to anyone about them, if anyone is interested in that car.
