Litany of Transmission woes

Ah well, the list is NOT endless anyway.
1. The transmission was rebuilt under instruction to make it bulletproof, and to shift firmly.
a. The first-second shift is hard, but occurs way too late during normal driving. Over 25 mph. So if you're in a 25 zone you're driving around in first gear. I don't mind the firm shift, but how do I get it to shift earlier at part throttle?
b. The WOT first-second shift sometimes hangs up. You have to back off the throttle to get it to shift. Any idea why and how to fix it?
c. The second-third shift is soft at part throttle and also occurs late during normal driving--over 35mph. Driving all over town in second gear isn't fun either. How can I get it to shift at about 20mph around town?

Oh, and I've adjusted the TV cable so only one click mark is showing. Two marks make the first gear shift hang up until you back off on the throttle all the time. One mark lets it shift without letting off the throttle, but makes the 2-3 shift softer than I'd like and sometimes still hangs up the 1-2 shift.

All this affects gas mileage too....

2. Also ... I noticed a broken wire coming from a loom underneath the coil pack. Green with a white stripe. Turns out it is the 3rd gear signal wire. I was not surprised to find it broken--Turbolink was showing that the trans was in 3rd gear all the time. Obviously something wrong. Anyway, it, along with three other wires, goes down to the driver's side of the tranny where they all three plug into a plastic connector. I fixed the wire but when I plugged the loom's weather-pack connector into the connection on the side of the trans it pushed the pin for the green and white wire (in the trans-side of the connection) back into the connector and apparently into the transmission--now I don't have torque convertor lock-up, ever. Even when I try to force it with the switch on the ALDL connections.
a. Why would the third gear signal switch affect this?
b. How do I get the connector off the trans so I can push the pin pack out or replace the connector?

And this is just the transmission stuff that's not right.

The late shifts could be caused by a misadjusted T.V. cable. Back off on the T.V. cable a notch and see what happens. The soft 2-3 shift can be caused by a number of things including too much travel in the intermediate servo, too much clearance in the direct clutch pack, a leak, ect.
 
The 3rd gear signal only affects ECM-controlled lockup. You should still have manual lock-up if you're grounding pin "F" at the ALDL. A constant 3rd gear signal is going to result in the ECM giving you 3rd gear timing too. Connector "D" (ground to activate the TCC solenoid) or "A" (12V with the key on as long as you're not pushing on the brake pedal) on the trans plug might've come off inside the trans. You need to drop the pan to get that connector out. I think there is a clip on the inside of the trans that holds it in place.

getting the third gear timing signal when you not supposed to and the resulatant ignition timing change also causes a rough idle and off idle stumble due to the ecm being lied to.
