I've been told that you can make your converter lock up by crossing two of the ports, so I wanted to check into this. Also, if you have a NON lock up, and try this, what will happen?

Yes... shorting the two ALDL pins will lock the converter as soon as it goes into second.
I don't think it will do anything if you try to lockup a non lockup converter.... the modifications are already done to prevent fluid from traveling to the clutch.....
