I am looking for some upgrade parts for one of my Hot Air cars!!

Injectors 30-42lbs
ECM Chips
Bigger turbo
I am really looking to find a Hot Air Intercooler kit complete:rolleyes:
Known good or rebuilt short block

Let me know what you have I may be interested!!
I have tons of parts as well and maybe willing to trade!!

Thanks for looking

These days, I believe the intercooled upgrade is a waste of time and lots of money and way too much work.

If I still owned a hot-air TR, I would never go this route.
Hey man, thanks for chiming in there. Curiosity has always been a crutch for me. I’ll stay hot I think. I am interested in squeezing as much power as I can though.

To put it simply, I think alky/E-85 is the way to go.

But I wouldn't stop there. If I knew I was going to be in it for the long haul, I would go strait to work on a total build and fabrication project. But it wouldn't include a intercooler.

-Modified or custom headers for a 4 bolt turbo with external wastegate.
-V-band 3 -1/2 inch downpipe.
-Sheet metal or 87' style intake with sheet metal plenum (mock-up will determine best approach.) Turbo would be on the top with V-band connection.
-FAST-XFI.
-TR-6 CNP
-Big throttle body pre-turbo.
-Possibly a constant very mild methanol mist 7 injector pre-turbo/post throttle body. <-- I really would work hard to make this happen!

Not to mention a built motor. But I would get started on the fab and set-up using a stocker. When it blows up, I would go for the gusto.

If you want low 10 or even deep 9 second performance, In the end, your going to end up with all the stuff that the 86/87 guys end up getting anyway. Why prolong the inevitable? TH 400. Electric radiator fans. 3-1/2 single shot exhaust.

Funny thing. It's difficult and expensive to get an 84/85 to just run deep 11's. But once you choose to go 9's, it don't think it will cost any more than it will with an 86/87 TR.

Yowzers! Great ideas man. I like it!
Haha, I’ve been pricing it out already. Very unique too. I love it. You don’t get any experience unless you do it right? Thanks for that! I’d like to carry this creativity on even farther and more detailed.

Good luck.
Because I have no idea how I would get any of it to work!!! :ROFLMAO:

Curious about the pre turbo mist. I’ve read on here that it can be pretty destructive to the turbine. I thought a lot about it and it does make sense but there are some physics to overcome there maybe..
I here people using the TR-6 coils, just curious what makes them the choice?
I might have a few questions lol..
As far as built engine, built ‘early stock block’? Lol, I’m a bit sentimental I guess but I don’t want to blow this one up haha..
maybe I should just start building the gusto in the meantime. Hmmm..

Yep. Maybe. It would require more thought and research. I'm talking very fine mist for cooling. Not enough to impact the wheel. If corrosion is a factor, then maybe a coated wheel and housing? Or whatever?

The 84/85 ignition is obsolesce. And soon (if not already) so is the 86/87. So why bother?

You wouldn't be betraying your sentimental attraction to an early block any more than 86/87 guys do when they use stage blocks. As a matter of fact, many stage blocks (especially off-center 016's and 012's) were cast before 1986! Or, if you choose, you can use a production 4.1. If I'm not mistaken, they are pre-86 as well. It's easy to get past that stuff when your building it balls-out.

I like the idea of 4.1.. don’t forget though man I’m in Canada. It is way more expensive for me here. Unless you have some kind of connection ??

Everything above is hypothetical. Just throwing out some thoughts about hot-air set-ups. Budget, logistics, fabrication, details, aren't even close.

I did the same thing in 2002 when I first began seriously planning my twin set-up. I didn't have it together and running until 2006 or so.
