Thanks bro, how do I pick one of those up???

Well it sounds like the global V6 is already being used in a few cars already so I would think you could probably pick one up through a GM Parts dealer or I'm sure you could probably find a complete motor for a steal/deal at a local junk yard....

Sure sounds like GM did their homework on that piece considering Hartford's race car is using the production block, heads, and crank!

BTW Duttweiler's told me they made 1640 on a 3 litre motor.
It sounded like it was for the Titan Motorsports Toyota.
I did not ask for specifics.

Yeah it was most likely for the Titan Motorsports guys.... 1640 aint bad at all from a 3L motor, but these guys with the 3.5L VVT Global V6 are making over 1800hp at the FW according to the HP calculator:eek:

my god, this fits into place so well. Someone had made a post earlier about a rumor of a 3.3L twin turbo V6 being used in a new Grand National, now this. It's starting to really make me wonder if we'll see the rebirth of the Grand National, it would be very fitting to do it 20 years after the machines that produced the original fell silent.

now heres the interesting question.... GM is obviously interested in the racing potential of that engine so there may be an aftermarket support for it.... with a displacement up to 3.8 litres..... with a capability for longitudinal mount in a rwd platform..... This may be the replacement for the 109 blocks or stage motors without the problems of the other replacement blocks.... I think I would definately be interested in seeing the posibilities develop.

I am pulling my 109 block tomorrow and waiting for the 1800HP one to bolt back in :D

Yes it is a V-6 and Produced by GM.
That is about it. :D

Here is a good shot of the motor in the CAV.
This is great you could run it in sport compact or regular street legal competition!!!!......Hmmmmm:eek:

John, do you got some naughty ideas floating around in that head of yours??;) It's just a DOHC, 4 valve per cylinder, forged steel crank, all aluminum V6:D

BTW, did you get the last email I sent ya??

Support Nick's /TA's motor....these guys have probably put their a$$es on the line for this project.

Here's another bonus to this new GM block. different displacements are achieved through using sleeves in the blocks similar to what the international diesels use. From what I understand those motors you can throw a rod, pull out the rotating assembly, re-sleeve the offending cylinder, and basically be back off.... key point here, NO block damage. Also to note, the 250k mile lifespan of these motors (estimated) is exactly whats assigned to those intl motors as above that hit near a million miles.... definately sounds like something with real potential, plus with the gm backing and the fact theres lots of real world test data available, besides the fact the major components are stock production and readily available at what will most likely be a very reasonable price....

Dont mind me I'm just thinking aloud for the benefit of others...... besides, I kept holding off for the right engine for my project.... now I'm thinking...... :D

WOW!!!

Maybe GM WILL bring back the GN?
It will definitely be more powerful, lets just hope it will not look like the new GTO;)

I would feel bad for the TA block guys if this motor started showing up for sale, or even in a new GN in the next few years.

But I am excited to see that they made almost 2k hp on the stock block and internals:eek:

And I thought the Toyota 3L was a bad ass, huh. :p

I don't think this new Global V6 motor is a threat to the TA block because you have to remember that if somebody wanted to put a Global V6 in their TR they would need to change everything around!!! It would be just like if somebody went and put a SBC/BBC V8 motor in their TR.... Nothing would interchange! The TA block was designed to accept just about everything that would come off your stock 109 block motor or Stage motor as well as most aftermarket parts so it's a much better/easier option for somebody that wants to replace their current block with a stronger piece, but still be able to use everything you already have!

It would be kinda cool to see somebody put the new Global V6 (turboed of course) in a Regal/G-body or in something that is light weight like an older 240Z car or a 3rd gen RX-7....
