LT1 Mass air flow.........info?

Hello.
Anyone know where I can find some info on using the LT1 mass air flow meter? I saw on at the track cant seem to find any info on why its used on a GN or what some of the tuning possibilitys are, will it make tuning easier/harder? any info?

The Impala 3" MAF or the LS1 3.5" MAF can be used with the Translator available from Ramchargers (formerly Modern Muscle). The box is needed to convert the newer MAF signal to something the old ecm can understand. The box has some tunability, you can richen or lean things by changing the settings in the box. Do a search here on the board on Translator, you'll find plenty of info. Plenty of guys have gone this route due to a lack of good stock MAF's for our cars. If you want to use it in an '84/'85 I think you will have to upgrade to the '86/'87 ecm as well.
