I bought a gen 2 when I had my 99 vr4 and it never kept the fuel trim settings in the memory. I sent it out to get fixed and 3 months later it started doing the same thing. i just sold it as a broken unit and went with the regular translator. just my exp. with the gen 2. but mine was prolly just a bad one.
Yeah i ended up with the gen 1 aswell. Gonna be fine tuning with a Safc because i don't want to have to be luggin along a laptop everytime i wanna make a quick adjustment. And with the right size injectors i can keep my timing happy. Sry to hear about your gen2.
its all good. that was years ago. I moved on lol.
the safc 2 with the gm maf translator beats the hell outta dealing the a aem standalone all day long. as long as you aren't going crazy with the injectors you should be fine with timing.
Yeah we are on 510's and meth + pump and then 560s or 680s for c16. Interested to see if the c16 will be enough for the extra timing from the 680s. This is the gfs car so we arent balls to the wall.
On most because theyre limited to 50% correction which is exactly 720. A translator AND safc both have 50% So the limit on size is stupid and absurd. Lol
its a turbocharged awd version of the Mitsubishi 3000gt or dodge stealth. its got an almost bullet proof stock motor with a 4 bolt main forged crank and rods. but it does have some weak links like timing belt and some lubricating issues if the oil pan becomes dented because there is next to no clearance between the pan and pickup.. other then that its a great car with tons of potential.
