Well i had nothing to do and since the trans shop would not look at my car today and made me bring it home because it was running bad for the test drive.

I pulled the pan again, i found that i had the old o ring to the filter [i think] was in the pan. well i checked the gov out and looks great. So like a dumb a-- i droped the valve body witch was not bad but i riped the gasket that is right on top of the valve body and under the metal shim or plate. where can i get this gasket and can i.

2nd - my tv linkage in the trans, it only pushs the tv rod in about a 1/4" at wot is this to little and could be why it wopuld not shift to sec.

looks like its time for a good trans cooler with a fan , i also found a little water in the trans[ rad lines leaking] very little.

boy can you mess some shoot up...

i can get a stock vb gasket from my buddy at the tranny shop..but sounds like i might have to come that way and help you get it back together...i got plenty of practice on mine...believe me on that one.

hey Bruce my tranny is holding up fine so far since i havent put no good tires on it yet it just smokes the tires off from about any roll till top of 3rd gear when i let out...its kinda fun..

im thinking of pulling my tranny next weekend and sending the converter across the country so whats the turn around time on a restall from time recieved till shipped back out?

All the gasket says is vb on it. the metal plate has a x and the gasket on top has a big C on it.

do you think the tv rod should push in more then a 1/4 inch, its easy to push in tell a 1/4 then it gets hard the rest of the way.

when i did pull the pan and losen the bolts no fluid fell from the pan. when i droped it the pan was 3/4 full. How many qt of fluid do they take, i put a qt in the stall when i put it on and what is in the rad.there had to be 10 qt's in it i would guess. It would be nice if it was all a fluid problem.


if one of you guys could get me that vb gasket that would be real cool, just let me know when and how much.

i'll call my buddy up and see if he can get me one tomarrow...that way Bruce dont have to take time out of his busy schedule to mail a gasket and maybe i can get my converter done before christmas..

i might come up there not desided just yet. but it wont be in my ttype since if this guy emails me back i'll be pulling my injectors and selling them and putting 75#'s in it.

thanks again reds, i have this thing all crazy but it will get better soon. If the trans does not shift when it go's back in and i top off the fluid then i might just burn it and have WE4 build me a real nice one so i have no problems any more. still dont know why it only was 3/4 of the way full in the pan when i droped it, iam sure it wont shift like that.

Do you hgave to get these gaskets at the tranny shop or can i get one some where else, the longer the tranny sets here apart the more i will forget how it go's back together.

if it does not work then the jeep will be sold and i will get a good one.

really most tranny shops should be able to get you one...sorry i was at the track all eve...

Ima going to stop some were sunday to try and get one. If the trans does not work i will pull it and save my money . But i will be putting in the rebuilt pontiac turbo350 trans if it will go in.

I put the new valve body gasket in today and more fuild and all it did was leaked out the dip stick where it mets the trans.

i guess i'll pull this pos tranny and burn it then put the turbo 350 in with the 2800 stall my brother has and hope for the best.


cant even get the motor to run right , maybe iam just wasting alot of time on this thing.

No i dont want to sell it yet, ive just been so p--- because i have a good bit of money in the motor and want to hit the track. Like i said the trans looks good in side and out but it makes you mad when nothing go's your way.

Well i pulled the trans today any way and i am going to take it to get looked at, and the stall to . I hope its some thing dumb and they can fix it pretty cheap because i dont have much money thats why iam not towing the car any where to have it looked at and i just pulled it.

by the way the rims look good on the car and have some nice space in the back.

Are you taking the trans to DelTrans? I would without question! Did you get the rims on without the spacer plates? Send me a picture if you have one.

BTW- Definately take the convertor too!

Yea i am going to give del trans a call and see if they can fix it up for me as soon as i know i have some money.my cumputer is down right now but i'll try to send yea some pictures of it. I have them in now but i have room to pull them out.
